Welcome to the Greenbrier County Clerk's Office Vital Records online ordering system. Requests will be processed Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, excluding holidays.
West Virginia laws only allow certain family members to obtain an actual certificate of these records, if they are 18 years of age or older. The list of family members, as outlined under West Virginia law are as follows:
Immediate Family Includes: mother or father, son or daughter, brother or sister, husband or wife, grandparents, grandchildren.
Identification Requirements: A photo ID is required; examples include a state-issued ID or Driver's License. WE CANNOT PROCESS YOUR REQUEST WITHOUT A VALID FORM OF IDENTIFICATION UPLOADED.
REQUESTING A BIRTH, DEATH, OR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:
Birth Certificates
- Certifled copies of birth certificates can be obtained only for individuals born in Greenbrier County.
Death Certificates
- Certifled copies of death certificates can be obtained for individuals who passed away in Greenbrier County.
Marriage Certificates
- Certified Copies of your marriage license can be obtained if you applied in Greenbrier County.
An additional Non-Refundable $5 Service and Credit Card Processing Fee will be applied to all online ordels.

You will be asked to select the method of receiving the certificates during the application. You will be notified via email when your application has been processed and your certificates are ready for pick-up or shipping.
Standard Shipping is through the US Postal Service. Please allow up to 10 business days for your order to be delivered, after you receive notification of approval.
